What is a Certificate of Compliance (COC) and do I need one?

A Certificate of Compliance (COC) is a legal document confirming that your electrical installation meets South African SANS 10142-1 safety standards. You need one when selling a property, after any new electrical work, when applying for a bond, or when your insurance requires it. Without a valid COC, a property sale cannot be registered.

How long does it take to get a COC?

For a straightforward residential property, we can typically inspect and issue the certificate within 1–2 business days. If faults are found that need rectifying first, we'll give you a clear quote and timeline before any work begins.

How do I know if my home needs rewiring?

Common signs include frequently tripping circuit breakers, flickering lights, discoloured plug points, burning smells near the distribution board, or a DB board that is more than 25–30 years old. If you're unsure, we offer a full electrical inspection and safety assessment.

What solar system size do I need for my home?

This depends on your average monthly electricity consumption (in kWh), which appliances you want to run during load shedding, and your roof space and orientation. We conduct a free site assessment and design a system tailored specifically to your needs and budget.

Do you offer financing or payment plans for solar installations?

We can discuss payment structures on a case-by-case basis. We also work with clients who are financing through their bank or a solar finance provider, and can provide all the documentation those lenders require.
